What is Body Composition Analysis?
Body Composition Analysis uses the Bioimpedance Analysis (BIA) to accurately measure you body composition. It calculates body fat in relation to lean body mass, water distribution in the body, basal metabolic rate, and cellular health status. It is much more informative than your bathroom scale. For example, if one loses 10 pounds, it is important to know what percentage of that came from body fat in relation to muscle mass. Many weight loss plans lead to more loss of muscle mass than body fat. It is critical that one maintains or increases muscle mass since this helps to increase metabolism, and is a great component of healthy aging. BIA is a great tool to assess health status and to monitor progress as one improves their body composition.
